side mirror wiring harness help

hey gang, was wondering if you could take a look at this for me.

long story short. side mirror broke, ordered replacement. new mirror wiring harness (black harness) is not same as broken mirror wiring harness (white harness).

I'm no electrician, but im thinking i can just snip the harnesses off and wire the new mirror onto the old harness to make it work. However, what are the 2 extra orange wires? I'm worried that since those don't make any connections to the door plug, the mirror wont function.

Any help would be appreciated as im trying to play electrician tomorrow on the car.

Thanks in advance for any and all help!

yo b... where'd you order the mirror from? as long as the spades line up the same inside the door and the wires are the same colors you should be fine. just try connecting it. the orange wires could be a number of things including defrost/heater blahblah.

i ordered it from subaruparts.com i think.

i would just connect it, but the black plug is not the same size as the female plug in the door. i hafta cut the two plugs off, and re-wire them in sort of a frankenstein fashion. just hoping i dont break anything thats why im trying to see what the orange wires do.
