Shotgun help!
Well im not new to guns, but ive never owned a shotgun.
Im looking into buying a shotgun for multiple reasons. I dont want an over-under or side by side I dont want wood
Ive been looking at two mainly:
1. Remington 870 (which im familiar with)
2. Mossberg 500
Ive found mossber's pretty darn cheap, and in the configuration i want, But im not familiar with their quality or reputation.
can anyone chime in and help out =)
And im not looking for a semi-auto or anything over 400 dollars =)

Mossbergs are excellent, they're great quality and will last a long time if maintained well in my experience.
Where did you find a 500 for under 400?

Ive had 3 mossy 500s and an 870. they are both awesome and the defacto pump shottys of all time, though If I had only 1 Id take the 870, theres just a bit more modability with that one, especially since you can adjust the magazine size. Either one is a good choice though, I think if you could only have one firearm for the rest of your life it would be one of these two.

good to know!
I knew there wasnt much to either. I mean heck its not semi, its a pump shotgun. Put one shell in front of the barrel, punch the center and BOOM
How Un-Reliable could one possibly be?
I think mossy is the way im going to go. Cheap, Cheap, And more Cheap

500 vs 870
Man that's like asking Camaro or Mustang
I personally think the 870 is a better gun. But it's more personal preference than anything, both are well proven.
870 for sub $400 here
