Short Shifter for STi?

Are there any short shifters for the STi 6speed besides the $400 one? I really want to find one so that I can tidy up the shifting.

Kartboy sells one for about $100 that just replaces the lever, not the whole assembly, but I heard bad things about their one for the five speed, though I dont know if this would also apply to the 6 speed since its a totally different animal..

What bad things have you heard about the Kartboy for the 5spd? I thought buying one of the kartboys was a given when looking for a shortshifter.

You can do the Kartboy shifter bushings to take the slop out of the shifting action. One member just did the install on his 6MT and it took him a half-hour.

apartantly the short shift installs in a fashion that puts a small constant pressure on the shift linkage, which in turn puts a small constant pressure on the shift fork of whatever gear your in leading to abnormal wear.

No kidding. Damn, I never heard that. Yeah, what would be a good shifter alternative?

that's the first I've heard about that. have you or any one else brought this up to the kartboy guys and see what their response is? wouldn't this be the same for all the short shifters except the STi?

HUH? where did you get this information from? i dont see any possible way that this could happen. the only thing that is changed from our shifter or any other aftermarket shifter is the fulcrum point.

Yes we'll have the STi shifter late this week early next week
we did the final test on the SCC STi saturday and everything went great.
