Shooting in the sunset...

I'm sure you all heard about this one in the news. This was 2 blocks away from my house. Whats freaky is that I walk my dog there everyday at around the same time the shooting occurred. Only reason I didn't go out last night was b/c it was raining so much.

Yeah and I grew up in Vistacion Valley (Sunnydale Ave.) where shootings and things of a violent nature were quite common. I didn't think Sunset was like that.

As bad as it sounds, I'm hoping this wasn't a random event. B/c if the shooter was just letting loose on the closest people that he saw then that would kind of mean that anyone could be at risk. sorry if my logic is off...

I don't know what it is with that area above 19th Ave between Quintara and Kirkham, but A LOT of stuff seems to go down up there. My friend's house got home invasioned years back....tied up his family and when he walked in the door, the robbers pistol whipped him w/his own gun!? It could've been worse though. They lost A BUNCH of stuff, but they all could've been killed!

Anyways, my condolences to the families of the girl and guy. It's always sad when someone passes, it's even more tragic when it's a violent death.

word is that the shooting wasn't random. the target was some guy sitting in a car with his girlfirend. the girlfriend died and the guy is still in the hospital. he had some long criminal record and someone was out to get him.

Hmm, yeah this case has had me worried but I'd really like to find out more i.e. motives, etc. Either way, this sucks... I'm sure y'all heard about the armed robberies in the Sunset a few weeks ago too, right?

always happens that way, person that has no 'real' connection to the shooter ends up dying and intended target doesnt, not like you want that sort of thing to happen to either ppl but its weird how things end up....prayers for the guy in his recovery and for the girls family ...i go hangout at 19th and irving here and there, cuz there is this dope viet/chinese restaurant next to washington mutual, didnt think stuff would happen like that down in sunset dist...sigh what a world
