I used to use t6 a lot on my last engines, really good and didn't burn oil (burned oil from most burned to least mobil1 5/10w30>castrol syntec 10w30>royal purple 5w30)
but now I use the oil my new motor builder suggested to keep things consistent

*But you can get it transferred into a local location if you talk to the Dept.Mgr. or Asst/Co-Mgr's. Same for O'Reilly's, I just went through my connections there recently for a friend. Ask how I know.
Great stuff, used it before and most I know with GD's and GG's use it. Heck, most of my Audi and Toyota (OffRoad Peeps) use it.
LMK if you guys need a solid source for it and I'll ask during my route visits.

rotella t6 is a full synthetic 5w40 and is not diesel oil. there is either a t5 1540 or t6 1540that is made for diesels. make sure you pick up the right one.

The T6 full syn, T5 syn blend, and T triple dino are all "mixed fleet" oils and suitable for diesel and gasoline engines (may not meet your API needs, but by no means "diesel only"). I do 6-7K mile intervals on T6 with a PureOne filter on my '02 and have excellent UOAs.

T6 is API SM certified too, and the Subaru manual says the cars needs SM of the recommended viscosity. By these criteria, T6 is just fine for our cars.
By the collective wisdom of NASIOC, T6 is also a "widely used and praised" oil, including with oil analysis.
I switched to it last year and found that the diesel scrubbing agents dirtied up the oil (cleaning I presume) on the first try, and the next try the oil was amazingly "clean" for the entire 3750 interval, and consumed almost no oil (compared to 5w-30).

I use it..awesome oil.
I went to Oreilly's and I knew what I was getting. But the employees at Oreillys put the T6 Rotella (blue jug) in the section where the regular Rotella(white jug) for $11.99. Not just 1, but all the bottles I think it was 8. I grabbed 2 and went to the cashier, scanned up 26.99, I said no it says $11.99. He adjusted the price and gave it to me for $6.99 a jug, why the extra $5.00 off, they have some customer loyalty thing where if it scans higher you get $5.00 back, if its under $5 you get it for free. I asked if I can grab the rest of the 6, he said no only the ones you brought to the counter. I was still happy. VERY
