^ I'm assuming you're running for FUN. You still need to know what class your car falls into. FUN isn't a class due to how our computer system works. You're class would be FUN XXX ### (XXX = the class your E30 would fall into based on mods if you were to run in class, ## = the number you want to designate your car). Also, you can't pre-register for FUN so you'll have to pay $50 for on site registration, plus $15 for a weekend membership if you're not an SCCA member. If you want to save $10, try to find a class your E30 falls into that's in the morning run groups and pre-register.
It's QQ thankyouverymuch

I'm not on board with the anti fun run hate. And 2/4 won't work... Just going to have even bigger morning groups with even longer work times.
4/2 I think is what we should have done, but I'm not on the steering committee anymore. This makes sure we have workers in the afternoon and smaller work times in the AM.
Don't be surprised if attendance drops after these changes. $65 is a lot for a casual autoxer...
We just have to be more patient and work together to educate folks on working and running.

People seem to think the fun runners are the problem. I don't know how true that is. But there is definitely much more people running in the morning than the afternoon.
I also don't know that 4 in the morning would fix it. There's been an uneven distribution in the morning groups. 4 would just allow for one really big group and 3 smaller groups. Which I think is still just as bad.
I wonder if there's a way to display run group sizes during registration. Show the group numbers as people are registering. Someone who walks walks up for fun, check the display and put them in the smallest group.
I also wonder if it would be possible to limit groups to 45 drivers...
Eh... Stuff to talk about at the next Steering Committee meeting.

As for the 2/4 format, I forgot the reason why we chose that over 4/2. Ask Ed or Isaac.
Pre-registration is supposed to help with the morning registration congestion, and we're trying to give incentive to pre-register. When we first started pre-regisration, I didn't realize that you couldn't sign up for fun. I also agreed to charging more for those that register on site, but I was thinking more along the lines of $5 more than pre-registration.
If you're going to complain, be like everyone else and go complain on baautox or yell at Mr. Chief of Chiefs
People running for fun hasn't been an issue in the past. However, it has become an issue over the last few events. Gagan, you know how our registration system works with people running for fun (FUN1, FUN2, etc). That's going to confuse people, and the people that do have some understanding are those who handle registration, timer, and car queuing. Not to mention the FUNs would have to be added to motorsportreg on our end. Glen is the one in charge of handling everything related to pre-registration, so you'd have to ask him the difficulty of doing that.

But I've been there when we were facing a $10,000 loss... So I will take whatever fun runs we can get to make sure we aren't losing money. As long as turnout is high this will be fine, but turnout could change.

You're brother is not going to take what I say seriously, so that's pointless.

We're now at the point where the numbers for Oakland are high. We're trying to make changes due to the higher numbers, just how changes were done when turnout was low.
LOL

Yeah, dude.
