Thumbs up

GO Giants!!! I'm a little worried about pitching as I always am with the Giants. I'm confident that they'll handle though. They did last year

steroid smeroid. Every sport has performance inhancers..... if you don't believe that then you're crazy. Shoot every sport at every level down to high school. If you're gonna not be a fan of a sport because of something like this then you probably shouldn't be a fan of any sport at all.

I mean race car drivers take stuff to keep their reflexes quick....just like fighter pilots.

Baseball players, football players, hockey players, everybody is on something to get a little stronger. A little faster. A little more alert. Get an edge. When their is money involved it only gets worse. When there are $25million a year contracts involved it gets really serious.

There have been performance enhancers in sports as long as there have been sports.

I read all this crap about puttin asterisks next to thing like bonds 73 and what not. That's horse crap. Then put one next to Maris's 61 or Aarons 755. Back in the day they used something they called the juice. It was basically an amphetimine that sharpened the senses a bit. What's more important in baseball. Huge bicepts or the ability to see and connect with the ball?

Calling steroid cheating is stupid in my opinion. I mean if you want to get legalistic about it then it hasn't been illegal until last year. There were no laws against performance enhancers until last year. And that's only because people started getting sick and dying from one.

Everyone says oh barry is juiced that's why he hit so many home runs. Mac was juiced. Sosa is juiced. Skinny *** brady anderson was juiced.

Look at bonds numbers. Prett consistant his whole carrier. With one huge year. It happens. That's how records get made...a great player has a great year. Marris never came anywhere near 61 before or after. Brady anderson hits like 20 a year then hits 50. Luis gonzalez? etc...etc...etc... it happens.

Does being huge help. Sometimes...but you have to have some pitch selection and be able to hit the ball. Does steroids or andro or creatine help you get bigger a little faster. Sure as hell does but you can't take the stuff and sit on your *** and grow muscles. Guys like barry end the season. Hit the weight room. lift weights like nobody you've ever seen. Then lift all season at reduced weight. Barry is smart. he brought someone in that keeps him flexible...keeps his reflexes sharp and keeps him able to move.

Personally I think this hole "scandal" is rediculous...the stuff was NOT illegal while it was being used. It's like all those athletes that were facing suspension and getting in trouble for a while there. You suspend someone for something that's not illegal and you're gonna get sued.

shoot I played high school football and baseball with people on steroids, designer whey, andro, creatine. Etc. Everyone was on something. Some of them used it right and got strong and fast. Some expected it to do the work for them and gained water mass and slowed down. I lifted clean and hard. 3-4 hours a day an was as strong as any of them...sept a few but they were just bigger guys. But even I used what you could call performance enhancers. I used to pound minithins and tylenol at half time so I would be juiced and wouldn't feel anything. I broke my face mask once. Busted the air bag in my helmet so many times I stopped replacing them. It's stupid....but it's part of sports.

You want a reason to dislike a sport. Try fixing games or maybe buying championships. or $8 beers.

OneManArmy-I agree!

If Bond can do what he did last night, I don’t care if he is juiced or not. I watch baseball for the excitement and homeruns. If I want less, I would watch golf. You think that if Babe Ruth could take something to give him an edge, you think he wouldn’t take it? Never been a Bonds fan, but when he is at bat, he has got my attention.

A little worried about having a reliable closer, I don’t Nen will ever be the same (when he comes back).

Either way, Giants all the way!

Giants are going to have an uphill battle this year, much more difficult than the past two years as they've lost a lot of good players (why?? are you telling me this franchise didn't have the $ for better acquisitions?)
Plus the elimination of steroids this year...we'll see. i have faith.

I like the joke I heard the other night: this year steroids have been removed from the game of baseball, and in addition Barry Bonds is still favored as home run champ with a total of 3 home runs this season.

Yes, I say BYOL (liquor). Drink a few on the Bart on the way to the game, drink a few in the parking lot. Then get a huge $5 soda and sauce it up. There ya go. Cheap and easy (maybe not ).

What I don't understand is all this animosity between fans. THEY'RE NOT EVEN IN THE SAME LEAGUE!!! I grew up in Oakland and love the A's. My mom's water broke with me at a Giants game so I'm a Giants fan first and foremost. I root for the A's and I root for the Giants until their paths cross at which point I say GO Giants!!!

They're both great teams.

yo. I agree. A's fans should start their own thread. There is no point to hating. It's not like there is beef (Minnesota/Yankees or Dodgers...).

I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to see all the teams play and not have to wait for interleague play like other parts of the country.

Dude, calling out the haters before the all-star break is kinda silly. Save it for October man.
