Yeah. I have been doing research on lowering springs, coilovers, and sway bars. Leaning towards a good lowering springs and struts combo that would be suitable for dd, but some suggest coilovers. Getting mixed reviews but it looks more cost effective to just invest in some good springs and struts. Do coilovers really add that much performance, while sacrificing ride quality?
In a nutshell...Are you able to outdrive the car's stock suspension set up and/or plan to regulary track it? Or is a DD and you are just learning an AWD turbo platform?
For DD...It is not cost effective in the long run because you need to figure in cost and downtime of rebuilding/revalving (they WILL need it sooner), supporting modifications (ex. roll center adjustment kit), stress on other suspension parts, additional allignment costs, lack of comfort, etc.
Plus cheap coilovers are exactly that; cheap. Physical parts might be decent quality, but the R&D for your exact chassis just isn't there.
If you have the money, Koni Yellows are always highly recommended and come with lifetime rebuilds/warranty.

There is plenty of material out there regarding this subject, so Google is your friend. Just take everything with a grain of salt and keep focused on what the car will actually be used for.

I would agree they are not necessary, but there are not pointless either. I used mine (the one you bought) to warm up the car when I lived in Chicago and keep tabs on the battery voltage. Midwest has something called a "winter" with temperatures below 40 degrees. Though I still had it on ~30 sec cool down (just paranoia
).

Planning on doing both, FXT was involved in a hit and run incident at Foster City while parked at my wife's place of work. Havent done anything, since the other party seems to think its okay to hit my wife's car and drive away in front of many witnesses. I fell in love with the WRX....so Im thinking im going to DO HER FIRST.

Learning, and learning everyday. Planning on tracking it but must re-acclimate to the new car. Im not going to be doing the upgrades anytime soon but I will be when the moneyz is right. I have been wanting this car for so long, and now that I have it...I feel lost and I keep thinking about the trials and tribulations I had with an R6, thunderhill, suspension mods and adjustments, crashing, and learning. Thinking I can do the same with this car as long as I focus on more relevant things. Its excitement and intimidation all in one. Thanks for your time Yuri. Learning every day, like i said before.
). Take it to auto cross, learn to exceed stock/current limits before taking it to the next level. That's my $0.02.

Thank to good folks at Subaru for designing a turbo assy with a thermal syphon... look it up, really cool little mechanism that cools the turbo.
On my Camaro forum I had detailed instructions on how to adjust air shocks
1) Remove Air Shocks
2) Place Air Shocks behind back wheels
3) Back over Air Shocks, throw in dumpster
4) Drive girlfriend's car to auto parts store and buy gas shocks

i love my turbo timer
it comes in handy on super cold and hella hot summers
being able to arm the alarm and go inside a store or pump gas while the car is running to keep the cabin temp. in check is always a nice feature.
the way i see it ... its saving my starter motor
yes i pump gas and leave my car running EAT ME hippy
