CaliSuby - ****ty situation with your family that you brought to our attention, and appreciate you doing so despite (or as a result of) some of the personal connections involved - making the community aware of information you have is helpful so people can take action as needed.
Thomas, I don't believe recovery of stolen goods is covered by the statute of limitations - in most cases the claimant would be the lienholder on a stolen vehicle, which is the insurance company that paid out on it, but LE will attempt to restore stolen items to the original owner in my experience.
I'm not a lawyer, not an LEO....Always be careful who you deal with and perform due diligence when buying parts.
EDIT: I'll reserve judgment here moving forward (as I've never done business with the guy) and updated my comments as such. My original comments were quoted below (not hiding anything), but I'm open to a public discussion from all parties involved if it helps expose a more...refined...truth.

Damn, I almost traded wheels with him.
I wonder if he was selling on nasioc. Probably the easiest place to get away with selling just about anything, no questions asked.
Crazy stuff though! Cali- sorry to hear that you gotta live with all that.
I HATE thieves.

STIRS's last post was early March. I don't have an issue with banning that account, and I'd take Iloqin's advice about your first post if you want to be clear about it, but I'd want to leave the "stirs" account open, only because banning it (meaning he'd re-register if back in the area) means any new account selling any parts from Central Cali is suspicious.
Need to keep an eye out anyways - I'll echo some of the posts in here that the range of parts this guy had for sale always seemed......extensive.

I'm not a lawyer, not an LEO, and it makes me sick that some enthusiasts on this site could have been impacted by this, either having vehicles stolen, or unwittingly receiving stolen property. Always be careful who you deal with - if the deal is too good to be true....

You've always been a nice guy and we met at your place and you had your car parked in the drive way both times i came over.
Even kept in touch with you a few times over the last couple years and still no issues what so ever. And i know there are other members out there that have also had good experiences with you too.
