Senor Racenut is the man!

I have to extend a public thanks to Racenut. I don't know how many of you folks know him here but he's one of the local Santa Cruz County folks.

I asked for help moving this POS VERY HEAVY 1958 apache truck I had blocking my drive way. Mind you this thing has been there for probably 18 months. 3 wheels are locked up. One is flat. Etc.

He offered up his truck. And we set up a date. Turns out this date is the man's BIRTHDAY. I told him not to stress out on doing this on his bday but instead he drove out to my house in BFE with his wife and spent well until the sun went down pulling that truck right to where it needed to be. Hooked it up and that monster mopar diesel 4x4 pulled it no problems to get it lined up. Then went around the back and pulled it up into an open dirt slot we have next to my overhang. Kept digging holes in the soft soil to get it moved but he wouldn't give up. Shredded his tow strap. Finally one big SMASH and it was up up and away and now out of my driveway. No longer blocking my caddy in and right where a tow truck will have NO problems getting it.

This was such a huge relief to me I can't even explain it.

I owe you a tow strap and a dinner.

You and your wife are both awesome people and I look forward to hanging out again. It's nice to have another fellow wagon man too.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Hey man it's all good. You're welcome. Was happy to help, it was even kinda fun. Gotta justify this things existence once in a while.

Glad we got it moved, I was starting to hope you just wanted some holes dug to plant potatoes or something.

Glad you got that POS moved. I don't have to worry about running into it on my way to the little boys room.

Good job Racenut! Ray, you really need to get rid of that pile. What happened to that chick at the bowling alley you were talking to about getting it off your hands?

Same thing that happened to all the other people that said they wanted it. Nothing. Had 2 people come look at it. One of them is buying the bumper and some other bits. I pulled the hood off to sell. Chipped the damn windshield in the process. Could have got an easy $175 out of that.

Got a guy that wants the grill and head light pieces.

So Im basically gonna pull all the good stuff off of it then get it to a scrap yard. Try and find a trailor with a winch on it or something. I should be able to get a good $2-300 out of it just in scrap. $300 a ton right now.

Either that or try to find one of those we'll come get your car no matter what places to come get it.

Hopefully by my birthday it'll be gone.

Gonna power wash the caddy and get it back in the garage so it'll be easier for me to work on. When the land lord comes I'll just push it back to the underhang. Or hopefully drive it. Motor is almost done.

Can do it at my place if you want. Have drive-way space now.

I was actually talking last night about trying to do an install day. I am gonna need to do my struts again with some new front camber bolts and new frnt/rear sway bars. I know another somewhat local dude wants to do struts springs.

I am glad that there are people here that are cool enough to help out others here

Sadly most scrap yards will not pay you anything due to the EPA crap they "have" to do like getting rid of al the fluids like anti-freeze, oil from motor, tranny, etc., so yeah. You could look around, in most cases you will have to have it towed to them in a "clean" condition. I could be wrong though
