It's not just "for one weekend" - the CHP has been patrolling out there for at least a few weeks now (as I've pointed out here), and will do so for the foreseeable future.

Quote from the PD article:
Mota said because it's so popular and has gone on for so long, the CHP will have to be vigilant with patrols to keep racers at bay.

“Once we go away,” he said, “they'll come back.”

its not like this was a big secret, yeah I guess it was 10 years ago (thats about how old that Pashnit page is) but there were already hella cops patrolling Skaggs 6-7 years ago when we used to do the "Epic Old School I-Club Northbay Drives™"

And yeah its mostly famous as motorcycle road because its smooth, fast, nicely banked, and well maintained. But to be honest theres WAY more fun Suby roads once you get past skaggs that cycles dare not tread, thats where we had the most fun, and those roads will remain a secret

glad there is always the un named streets in the livermore hills. literally never checked except for one straight away near the freeway. it makes me feel like a kid again, 500 watts of metallica and usually no one in my way.

p.s. has anyone else been to robert's road in rohnert park and been on the gravity hill?

Where did Bushido go anyway?

I think it would be more of a tōge track. In my video, I wasn't going THAT fast - and even though there's only one car at the very end of the video, never cross the double yellow line.

It's capable of supporting speeds north of 80mph in the right car with a sorted suspension. Motorcycles? Even faster.

Been a while since I've seen Rich. I think one of the last Redwood rendezvous. Hit me up next time you guys go out. I'll be much slower now in the M5 bahemuth but I should still be able to have some fun .

Hope you can handle spin-outs without AWD!!

Yes, I remember that run, and ironically, we were on that very road...

I knew you'd throw that at me at some point!

To be fair, that was my first real drive in the STI and I got a little too handbrake happy .

I'm much more calm in the M5 anyway... its a very different feel.

WHo really races on Skaggs? I dont see how you could unless you are coming down one of the hills and get side by side with someone.

Give it a weekend or 2 and it will blow over

The high performance race bikes can race side by side. If you watch the video I posted, I wasn't even driving that fast - and you can see that it can be driven faster. I was responding to a rollover of an Impreza during a Forester meet, and trust me, you can break the fastest legal freeway speeds in this state on that road.
