best in my opinon is a 94. 1.8L, same original body style, cheap and lightweight.

90s and 91s have crank nose problems because of a "key" that wears away after several tens of thousands of miles.

I'd start with 94-95 or 99-00 editions that have torsen lsd(see editions and changes by year http://www.miata.net/faq/america/index.html), spend some time miata.net and norcalroadsters.com forums to learn more before getting the car.

94s are the best but they're all pretty similar. The newer you get the more bracing you get. the older you go, generally speaking slightly lighter. Newer ones had 94+ Torsen LSDs, older ones VLSD. Pretty much everything interchanges on Miatas between 1990-2005. Crank nose problem is overrated.

yeah check out norcalroadsters.com, clubroadster.net, miata.net.
