acetone does evaporate quickly so it isnt a big threat to your paint, u can use it just dont flood it.

try at a local bodyshop. Maybe they could let you use some Acrysol.

i'd be VERY careful about the possibility of using stringent cleansers/chemicals on the paint. if you can, go to an auto detailer/body shop and ask them for advice.

i can live with small spots over having bad/faded paint.

Use Bug & Tar remover specifically made for cars. It is safe for the clearcoat, but will eat off the last coat of wax you put on. One of the best ways to deal with sap is to wax your car regularly. When your car is always nicely waxed, the sap will have nothing to stick to, and can be more easily washed off in the future.

another trick we use is getting a razor blade...bend it so the outer edges go upward...use the center to CAREFULLY scrape it off...SLOWLY!!! Try not to dig into the paint, you CAN scrape it....just dont dig into it.
