There is... Acetone... Nail polish remover. Put some on a paper towel and rub the sap off. Nice to have a girlfriend that has that stuff.

Not if you use very little on a paper towel. You kinda feel the sap start to loosen up. I have a decent amount of wax/polish on my car maybe thats why I wasn't scared to do it. But wax the affected area as soon as you are done.

*edit* ohh... If you have a Non-Acetone Nail polish remover, try that first.

Bring it to me I can help you out, I do detailing.

If you use acetone...BE CAREFULL and have some polish ready.

Saturating a cotton pad or ball with rubbing alcohol then rubbing vigorously usually works very well for me. You can also use the pre-packaged alcohol wipes too. It'll practically melt the sap off.
Add a bit of wax after you're done if you like.

what about making it weaker? Just get some in a bowl, add some water to reduce the concentration? Would that make less harmful to the car and still work?

hope it's not pine sap...hackberry trees produce sap that can be washed off.
