Cellphone law is pointless.

Yea, people shouldn't be distracted when they're driving. But the cellphone law is just to make money for the government. You know what else is distracting you when you're driving? ANYTHING THAT ISN'T DRIVING.

Brucelee you are on the slippery slope that being a cop=being intelligent.

I like how cops are fielding important work calls that are probably more distracting than our daily convo's and they don't us a headset, or bother to look where they are going.

I see cops driving while talking on their own cell phones, AND they don't have their seatbelt on. What a joke.

Plus I was in a similar situation above, except they had undercover officers pretending to cross the street at a busy street (the ones that don't have stop signs or traffic lights on certain blocks like Geary St, Alemany St, and Mission St in SF). Anybody who didn't yield got lit up, including me. I was driving a fedex truck. Honestly it's actually more dangerous to yield to the pedestrian, since the car(s) next to me might not see the person and hit them.

Agreed! It takes the same if not more attention from a person to say set the NAV or change the way the stereo sounds while driving than it is to talk on the phone.

aint that a biiii?

our trucks are like big white walls and us yielding to a crossing pedestrian is the most dangerous situation possible for US and THEM!

because people always follow us to close and if they dont rear end us, they end up switch into the next lane thinking we are stopping for a delivery and zoom past us potentially whacking the poor sap crossing

Yes, pedestrians have the right of way... and yes you're a cop, but sometimes you gotta think about your own safety, and people paying attention to the road.

Jumping out with someone on the phone isn't the smartest idea.

One time my mom pulled over a cop because he literally nearly hit her trying to go after a black dude in a porsche going like 5-10 over. Most irresponsible move ever. His supervisor came down and chewed him the **** out, and let the dude pulled over go (he was laughing).

This one guy who sits on highway 24 coming back from Berk/sf once you get thru the tunnel. He is a joke.

A mini van was going ~80, def not more than 2mph faster than that.

Cop floors it out, he speeds up to about 125mph, keep in mind the guy is now going 75 or under.

Then he flys up behind the guy to scare him, a normal cop move, however he was so into it, he almost rear ended them, thought he was going to lock em up and have a huge wreck. He definitely scared himself.

Uber sketchy.

i agree and disagree with this haha. i do agree that the cellphone law is mainly for making more money for our state, i don't think that it is completely pointless. i see a lot of people who talk on their phones that should NOT be driving. not to stereotype but i see a ton of "soccer moms" driving around in their minivans, completely oblivious to what is going on around them... it's ridiculous. not to mention they drive like my grandma as well.
