I just want to thank those that mentioned soju. I love it. Jinro is great, Yippuseju (or whatever) is really great.
But back to the cheap, lasting, sneaky buzz; its that giant $5 bottle of Sho Chiku Bai sake that can't be beat for economics.

Just KILLED a bottle of ty-ku. "Super premium" sake...its a junmai ginjo...15%..$19.99 on sale at bevmo
On the bottle it says its the worlds purest sake and worlds best tasting sake ahah
I just had a bottle of shirakabe gura junmai at $22 (was on sale from $32 at a japanese restaurant) and I think the ty-ku is waaaay smoother...
Btw I hate warm sake

Soju is the **** mixed in with some green/oolong tea. Sneaks the **** up on you. Ask any old Japanese man and he will tell you what's up.

A few of us got smashed on a magnum of Yaegaki last night. Not premium stuff, but very drinkable -- not much character but very smooth. I'm happy to report no hangover today!

That's not what I want.
