Hey, where'd everybody go?
I made it only as far as the second round, but I was going all out for time, anyway (since I got there too late for any practice runs).
My previous best was a 14.339. Here's tonight's two runs:
R/T - .694
60 ft. - 2.090
E.T. - 14.212
MPH - 93.808
R/T - .647
60 ft. - 1.924
E.T. - 14.012
MPH - 94.390

That's a great R/T. That's how to win races. Both last Wednesday and this Wednesday, I've been cutting lights in the mid to high-.600's. :boo:
What I do when I'm going for E.T. is to shallow stage, just barely making the second pair of lights come on. Since the lane timer doesn't start until you move out of the staging beams, travelling that extra little distance means you are moving relatively faster before the clock starts. A little bit on the starting line means a little bit more down at the other end.
When I want to win elimination rounds, I stage past the point where the first pair of lights go out, then I back up just enough to make 'em come back on. Street cars have to have both pairs of lights on when staging (no deep staging), but those extra few inches of tire rollout means you are that much closer to the finish line and does make a measurable (but not huge) improvement in your R/T.

my trick to cutting good lights ( my best was a .500 :P ) is to go on the third yellow

Don't we have to shoe polish 'DEEP STAGE' on the window to run with just the last pair of staging lights? I see some guys out there who do that.
Actually, Scott, if we really wanted to stage really deep, there's a way to do that... but the track officials know what to look for and they take a dim view of it.
