Sac Meet & Drive, "Drive" being the operative word!
Okay, I posted this over on nasioc, but I wanted to get the word out to as many folks as possible:
Original thread w/ responses: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...hreadid=416367
Full text:
Before the summer ends (along with the good weather) I figured we should have another drive. A Saturday or Sunday would be best so more people that want to come can make it.
This thread is just to get the ball rolling and get some ideas from everyone.
Date & Time
1) Saturday, September 27
2) Sunday, September 28
3) Saturday, October 4
4) Sunday, October 5
5) Saturday, October 11
6) Sunday, October 12
I threw up a few dates because I know UCD starts up around the end of September and we don't want to give Dorifto any excuses to miss this one!
Location
I think Mosquito Ridge is out due to all of the Erik Estrada action going on up there. Here are a couple of suggestions, feel free to add more:
1) Wentworth Springs Road - stop for lunch (picnic) somewhere along Ice House: http://www.pashnit.com/roads/cal/WentworthSpringsRd.htm
2) Lake Berryessa - picnic out past Spanish Flat. The drive from Sac to Winters will be boring, but 128 to Knoxville is a blast. We can plan to hookup with the North Bay Subies too.

3) Or we could try one of the roads out past Nevada City. There's a couple we can combine.

Throw out some ideas and we'll see if we can get this going in the next few weeks.

At the end of Russell you willl come to a stop sign. Just keep straight on that road for about 8 miles or so until you come to another stop sign. Take a left and your back on 128 for a couple of miles until you hit Winters. I went to HS there and use to float my 66 Ford Galaxy down that road on my way to work in Davis. I took my new WRX out on it the other night and didn't see a soul on the road. I'm pretty sure I got to Davis quicker than I ever did in the Galaxy:p
