so let's say in this case of a nail popping the tire, they'll still replace it? And how long does this warranty last? If I used it for say 60k miles, and one day decided to "accidentally pop" the tires, I could get all 4 tires replaced for free?

If the hole isnt on the sidewall, then Americas tire will patch it for free. Even if you didnt buy your tires there.

They used to patch for free, they won't now if you didn't buy them from their stores.
The store mgr told me "if i patch every joe schmoes tire for free even if they didn't buy from us, it would increase the waiting time for our REAL customers and that's not right"

he tried charging me $30 to patch it... i complained and he eventually gave in. lol

If it's repairable(not blown or or driven flat for very long)just get one of these...

At least for future use.

well, if it's not blown then tire companies can patch that since it's still in the steel belt. Though, if you were running on that tire too long while it was flat, it's a run flat which means that the inside of your tire actually broke apart due to the tire being flat, and therefore unrepairable.

that kit is pretty expensive considering you can get a kit for 12 bucks at kragens.

THe kit i have in my trunk has everything included in that "professional" kit.

Good call. I bought the Snap-On(Or whoever makes it for them)Kit for 30 bucks. I got it for the more comfortable/contoured handle. I never thought of Kragen.

that's a plug kit, and I don't recommend plugging tires.

I've seen plugs work their way loose and leak, and that makes them unsafe.

patches are way better, seeing as how some places will patch tires for free.

the plug kit doesn't work too well, we have one at out autoshop @ school, and gas stations use them too, but they don't last too long. Plus a lot of times, tire shops don't work on holes that were previously plugged with one of those. I'd rather keep whatever that caused the puncture in and air it up, and bring it to a tire company nearby for a patch fix. Since, the patch is way more reliable than a plug ever will be.

its repairable...but it depends how long you drove with the tire being flat. your sidewalls are probably gone, and you might need a new tire. bring it into americas tire co and let us look at it. they MIGHT do it for free, but if not..its 15 bucks or less...i forgot how much it exactly is. maybe you should have one of your girl friends bring it in or something, because we always hook girls up. =]

I've had good luck with Wheel Works off Albrae too. I used to buy all my tires there.

I had one of my truck tires stabbed back in the day..tire was like 2 weeks old. They replaced it no questions asked...

another thing though... did you check your tire after you filled it.

It's possible that while you were running it flat it wore on on the inside and created some kind of weak spot that just gave out after a while being full.

Anytime a tire goes flat....check the insides as well as the outsides.

Yea i didn't check it close enough. The inside of the sidewall blew and theres a decent sized hole in it. Like everyone said, i guess when i drove that day with it low before filling it back up it probably make the sides weaker. why do these tires have to be so expensive
