Rota Wheel Meets Cement Block at 70 mph

Coming home to San Jose from Menlo Park last night about 9pm. You all know how pitch dark Hwy 280 is at night. A little after Page Mill Road I was cruising and then all of a sudden I saw an object in the road about 20 feet ahead of me. Really no time to react. It didn't look too tall or long so I aimed my car to so the object would go underneath the car. Then BOOOOOMMMMMMM. I hit what I think was a cement block. I saw a few other people pulled over on the side of the road who had also hit that object. The car felt fine and I didn't notice I had a flat tire until I changed lanes. I finally pulled over at the next exit and had a lot of fun changing the wheel with the stock scissor jack. Also found I had no jack handle so I had to improvise with a screwdriver. Anyways, here's the aftermath.

Rota SDX got annihilated:

Cememt block also shaved my heat wrap on my downpipe. It was a close call.

So now I am in need of a single 17" 5 X 100 Rota SDX like this:

If anyone has one for sale please reply. Color doesn't matter. I will paint it. Just pissed that they discontinued making these since they are an older model. I called Wheeldude today to try and find a replacement.

That is all.

I talked to Wheeldude this afternoon. I did specifically ask for a black with red lip wheel. But I could pick up any SDX wheel and paint it for all I care. I just bought a new set of tires less than 5k miles ago.

Couldn't you call the city and have them replace it?

Thanks guys. I was going to drive the Sub today but I will go with the Cad instead.

And keep an eye out please for one single SDX rim. Thanks.

ouch!

You need to roll two of the same wheel on one side, and different ones on the other.

Kind of like wearing two different Jordans like the Bones Brigade like in The Search for Animal Chin. Good idea.

Yes, I know somebody who was in the same situation. He had the city replaced his oil pan.

Haha I've rolled different colors on opposite sides, but haven't thought about different wheels...id assume they'd have to be identical in weight as well as size/offset
