This wknd, I'm officially saying "Adios" to the season by laying down some storage wax on my decks, then packing up all my gear to hibernate for the summer.

Actually, coming across this thread has inspired to get a few runs in on my Freebord before sundown.

Nice! Good to read that you're getting in some good days in on the board & bike. I take it that the hip artho went off w/o a hitch then, eh?

Oh, and I never got around to storing my gear, but it's on my list this wk. Plus, yesterday I got to wakeboard for the 2nd time in my life. I think it was about a decade ago for my only other time getting beat up on the lake. My friend's brother had a blast trying to send me flying off the tube. I'm sore as hell fr both the boardin' & tubin'.

It went off, but it still hurts in there...I'm thinking the next step is hip replacement, but don't think they will do it until I'm in my 50's The hip doesn't catch anymore when walking since they pulled out the loose bodies but its still not pain free...Doc said there were no guarantees of a complete pain free result.

Anyway, I'm back on the bike and will be back on the board in full next season.

We got to ride together this year.

Yeah man I wouldn't do surgery at this point until you have to. With my knee surgery I still have issues and have to ride with a brace. It pops all the time, etc. So no guarantees the surgery fixes everything. My brother is having issues with his hip as well. I keep telling him to go in and get it scoped but he's a dumb ***. He doesn't seem to realize that the longer it goes unchecked the more damage he does. He's only 26 so a scope wouldn't be that big a deal for him. His hip always catches and pops. You met him that one time. You be down to talk to him about it?

As for a hip replacement... Yeah bro I'd put it off as long as possible. The surgery is much better now than it was even 5 years ago. My mom got one and the scar was tiny and the recovery wasn't any worse than my knee surgery. She walks better now and moves around a lot better. But I would be scared it would be the end of snowboarding so I wouldn't do it until you have to.

Hopefully some PT and some yoga will help you out man. I'm scared how long it's gonna be before they tell me my knee is finished. Sucks.

Good luck. Glad to hear you're better after the artho.

yep, i think ill honestly have a break down if the weather doesn't shape up this year. The last 2 years have been the worst in tahoe in the last 15 years.

looks like it might end up shaping up to be a decent season this year, i am not couting my chickens before they hatch but boreal is claiming to be open this week. i wont go up yet but its a good sign.

i am thinking about asking for a heavenly season pass from the wife for early xmas present if the season is up and going by then
