Talking Rodent problem resolved

Living near the hills, I get an annual rodent problem. The little critters run around under the deck, along the fence, eat my dog's food, and get into the house, running around in the attic.

I got a reusable, plastic rat trap from OSH with strong jaws o' death.

As my dog sleeps in the garage and his crate is outside, I placed some bait in the trap and placed the trap in his locked crate.

Monday night, the trap caught one small mouse. Last night after UCKK, I reused the trap, and around 11 or so, I heard a loud snap. I looked outside and saw a little mouse twitching in the trap for about five seconds, then he stopped.

I emptied the trap and set it up again. Sure enough, this morning, I found yet another dead mouse in the trap. (What's gross are the ants crawling over the dead mice.)

This thing works! That's three mice in two days.

Yeah, it does work. That's what I used last year. Looking in my fridge this time, I found out I had run out of PB, so guess what I used instead? Jelly!

dood, some how rats got in to my garage and are chewing **** up and crapping on stuff.I need to kill them. I am thinking of getting the sticky tape stuff and let them die slowly.

I tried the glue pad, and they don't work. The rodents will just brace themselves against something until the glue trap comes off. Only the jaws o' death work. I think the brand I used was Tomcat.

Rats have poor vision and crawl along walls to find their way, using their whiskers as well to navigate. Don't place your traps in the middle of the room; they'll never go there. Place the trap against the wall, preferably in a dark room, with bait. Good luck. Peanut butter helps.

Go to the SPCA and get a cat. The mice / rats / unwanted guests will think twice about going near your house. A trap will just keep them comming cause they smell the food. They smell the cat and the steer clear. Just my $.02

Unfortunately, I'm allergic to cats. I have a dog, but all he does is bark at them and chase them, but the rats go up the fence/trees to wait him out.

Yeah so am I. I actually hate cats, but I like them for that one reason.

***OR***

Sit outside with a BB gun, a pitcher of margaritas, and some bait.....happy hunting.

So if I took a picture of a dead mouse with its throat/neck crushed, covered in ants, wouldn't that violate some I-Club Forum Use guideline or standards of good taste? :-)
