Fremont isn't usually like this, on average our murders are like 2 a year, mostly from people coming to fremont from other cities. This is really surprising especially since our area is pretty decent.

Ah the home invasion. Props to the home owner for getting to his weapon even if it sounds like he didn't use it very well.

that's why if you have a weapon learn to use it properly, it really can save you and your loved ones lives.

that is NUTS - what would you have done if you were home and you heard all the shots fired and two guys running away from your neighbor's house?

He wouldn't have heard it, the pounding of the keys creating "BAM Shirt Thread 1,000,000" would have drowned out the gunfire.

Good thing he had a gun to protect himself, because this way he was able to get shot AND robbed, instead of the other possible outcome of only being robbed.

I believe just because you think you neighborhood is "safe" type doesn't mean it won't happen. Anything, can and will happen anywhere you are. So always be prepared.

Glad you guys are safe, just think if you came home early in the middle of this, could have been a whole different story.

This is insanely random, most people will never endure a home invasion robbery.
