I'd avoid any of the southwest at this time of year, southern Utah included- unless you like it HOT- that stuff is better to see in the spring or fall.

I was thinking an Audi A6 Quattro. I can get one with unlimited mileage for $570 a week... vs. $400 for a Camry, I think the Audi will be worth it over 2000 miles.

3, maybe 4 (gf).

parents wanted to take our lexus truck but I said it would probably not be worth putting 2000 miles on the car.

werd on the fuel economy- the lexus truck gets about 16mpg at 80mph, 22 at 60 because it has the aerodynamic profile of an apartment complex and a huge v8. a car would probably do close to 30mpg at 80. my parents want some degree of luxury, though, and it's nice to cover ground quickly and safely which an a6 would do pretty well for a rental. another choice is the G35 since the company rents those too.

i think they recommend premium on the a6.

If it's the LX470, don't do it. We have one, and that would not be as much fun as an A6.

Yeah, you have to baby it if you want any kind of decent mileage on acceleration, and cruising at 70 gets about 15.

My sister's GX470 clocks in at an avg of ~17mpg, mixed city highway, I don't think you can squeeze more than 21 or 22 out of the GX470, full time 4wd, probably about the same as a lx470/landcruiser...

oh yeah it body rolls like no one's business, nice plush car though, you can sit in the third row, fold down the 2nd, and its a lot of room and you can put your legs up

GX470 has adjustable air suspension and our sport package GX has the Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System which is just a fancy name for electronic swaybars that stiffen in cornering and disconnect offroad for more suspension travel...
