Don't even get me started about people driving in Tahoe. Not the people from there, just the idiots who think they're superman in an SUV that go there on vacation.
Lol i'm going to our cabin there the first weekend in december. Driving in snow always makes me nervous. Some people just don't understand that just because your car is awd or you have an suv doesn't mean you can drive like you would during summer. Just two days ago I saw someone who lost control of their expedition in the rain on the freeway and flipped it onto a hillside. I just don't understand why anyone would want to risk their lives and cars because their late or hungry.

Yeah, I like to go pretty slow in the snow. I generally drive the chain control speed limit, but I get passed a lot by SUV's, only to find them up the road a bit in the snowbank. If they aren't in the snowbank, I end up catching up to them in traffic at the lower elevations when the snow melts. I think it has to do with their mentality that they paid all that money for the biggest fanciest SUV they could find, now they have to make it worth it by driving faster than everyone else. Plus, people in SUVs are important, their time is way too valuable to be wasted driving safely.

It doesn't make much sense to me either. You might show up like 1/2 hour earlier than if you just drive safely, but I can't imagine any activity that one additional half hour would be worth it.

You board? Where do you go? My GF and I have an apartment at Northstar... We're there every weekend.

I would've flipped out! Kudos to you for keeping a level head. That's why I drive my truck around the bay area, I've got so many nicks and dings in my STI from stupid people... especially in parkinglots!

The truck's steel bumpers = their car breaks.

Quoted for truth.

And doesn't the Forester have a grill guard from the factory? Is it attached to the unibody or is it merely cosmetic?

I think you should let it all pass. Forgive and forget.

At least some out-of-stater didn't back-end your newly bought MR2 Widebody on the freeway, causing irreparable damage.

that ****** said he was sleepy, wasn't looking.

Horn first.. Always.. The horn is a tool of humiliation - not last second emergency warning.

When anyone is doing - or considering doing - anything that could even remotely have the potential of damaging your car (or impeding your path of travel for an unreasonable amount of time) - you lay on the horn, and don't stop sounding it for at least 3-5 seconds after the offending party has corrected his idiotic behavior. This works to both, alert the other driver of the immediate danger associated with their behavior - and humiliate the driver as anyone withing earshot will be looking for the driver making the stupid move that has solicited such horn application - thus potentially work towards correcting the driver's bad habbits and possibly saving someone else the hassle of a repeat performance...

I think it's always a good idea to take information from the person no matter who's at fault or if there's dramatic damage. Just proof you didn't take part in a hit and run or something. People are evil.
