Kind of eerie that I was listening to the specials last week and made a comment about this song because it goes back to a time when he was still in prison; and that wasn't even that long ago. Much respect to and rest in peace Nelson. G/F said now he is truly free.

I'll stir the pot.

There was this other group that charged violent rebellious movements against a tyrannous oppressive government in the name of freedom and equality. Some d-bags named Washington, Adams and Jefferson. Yeah, **** those guys.

He was a member of the communist part. He found backing for his movements there. He said many many times that he did not hold to most of the communist values.

" In his court testimony Mandela said that he did not become a communist, though he qualified his statement. If by a communist was meant a person who was a member of the party and who believed in the theory of Marx, Engels, Lenin and Stalin and who adhered strictly to party discipline, then, Mandela claimed, he had not become a communist. "

I have met a lot of "republicans" that don't hold to all "republican" values but you find similar views there.

Our president is a socialist that bombing people and killing people for no good reason. Mandela was fighting for equal rights against an increasingly more violent group that held no value for those they killed. They killed 70 protesters and put Mandela in prison for trying to overthrow their government. THe violence from his side came after those 70 people were killed.

You could say the same about our violence on the middle east....
