RIP EQ Tuning stickers...

I'm taking off my EQ tuning stickers and here is why...

I have a little rant for all of you about ricers in LA.

I've been living near LA since January for school and my mind is blown by how many people have tried to race me on the freeway. Since Friday, I have had three people legitimately try to street race me in a newer Mustang GT, beater 240sx with a turbo, and a Civic. They speed up and slow down next to me revving their engines, I shake my head in a no fashion, they speed up really fast and get a good distance ahead then slow down a ton while hoping for me to slow down with them. When I don't want to race, they pass me and put on their emergency flashers like they "beat me". WTF??

The thing that annoys me is that while people have tried to race me in NorCal they are not nearly as aggressive as the ricers down here! The dude in the mustang seriously went from 80mph to 40ish in the fast lane trying to get me to race.

Mechanically, my car has an MBC, turbo back exhaust and a tune. Cosmetically, my car is mostly stock looking 2005 WRX with a MadDad single tip and it's a little lower because of the springs... and EQ Tuning stickers. I have no tint, wheels, etc. I hate to say I'm pretty sure it is the EQ stickers that are causing them to want to race me.

Anyone else have this problem?

Your biggest problem is not the sticker. It's LA.

I don't think its the stickers. They don't look at your sticker and then decide to race you. When I was stock I had the same problem. People would line up next to me and rev at 9k rpm.

Now, all of a sudden it's stopped dramatically. I have Stoptechs in the front, sti front end, gold 18x8.5 rota gravels and 5% tint.

People would rather race a stock wrx then a modded STi I suppose

I don't think it's the stickers at all either. I never get challenged and I'm flying my "tuned by FLI" stickers on my modded Sti. Maybe they're scurred!!! jk

Not saying this is it, but do you drive aggressively? I've been down in LA/OC since '05, and have had less problems down here than while I was in the bay. I cruise at about 70 on the freeways (when I can... hahaha).

My car's exterior isn't very flashy either, with EDM headlights being the most attention grabbing, but I do have fog covers, a 3" single tip exhaust (not that loud), '00 RS wheels and am slightly lowered.

Yeah maybe. I'm going to take them off and see if anyone else tries to race me in the near future. We'll see.

How do you define aggressive? lol I don't weave in and out of traffic, but I usually keep a fast pace... 75-80 depending on the flow of traffic.
