Yea trust EQ, they are not gonna lead you astray or make you pay for unneeded crap. The EJ motor is pretty complex and not something that a standard mechanic would know anything about if they weren't familiar with the motor.

Thanks for coming out to the shop Steven. I'm glad we found that your engine seems to be just fine, asie from a bunch of missing gaskets and bolts. But that melted main wiring harness is not good news
.
Thanks

Missing gaskets and bolts? Melted Harness?
I would think that the "stock tune" causing the problems is probably not true. Probably has more to do with the previous mods by the previous owner and the current mods by the current owner.

Exactly correct. The previous owner had a lot of parts on the car with less than stellar installs. Then he took off some parts before selling it and took even less care doing so. We found the head to exhaust manifold and downpipe gaskets missing entirely and a lot of random bolts missing. The worst part was the main harness that looked like it was sitting on the downpipe at some point. It was melted through the shielding with visible wire exposed. I imagine this may have something to do with the missfire issue. The funny part was that the compression test came back normal after a dealership recommended an engine teardown.

steven your other problem is probably someone taking the car to 140mph to "relearn the ecu"
and this is vince by the way if you didn't know, phil's friend that used to own the rbp gc8
and this is vince by the way if you didn't know, phil's friend that used to own the rbp gc8
or be doing pulls till redline right after flashing, or continue to do them when the car is misfiring/pulling timing/or knocking because someone says "its fine keep going" the car has to learn
not your fault, just listening to the wrong person

will's right. steven you need to get your money for that. just because someone worked at a certain shop doesn't mean they should shirk responsibility. what happened isn't within "possible error". this is complete failure of your "tuner" or "mechanic".
