Rim Repair

Pretty upset since these rims are expensive and i love them. 680 south in the slow lane right before scott creek there is a change in pavement level. When i went over it the car thudded pretty hard. I didnt think anything of it and kept driving. The next day i was looking at the brakes i had just put on and noticed the bend in it. Its not huge or does it effect the way the car drives or the tires. But there is about a 2 inch section of the lip that buldges out. I guess having really stiff suspension, hard bushings, and a 235/40 tire doesnt help much.

Does anyone know of a place in the bay area that will do really good work and fix it like new? Ill try and get some pictures of it tonight.

Call Toyworks Autobody and ask for Kent he can direct you to the rim shop that fixed mine. He sent out my rims for repair when I crashed and messed up three wheels. You can't tell the rims have ever been damaged. They look brand new. (925) 682-8249

The rim is still perfectly round everywhere and the tire is perfect and holds pressure. Its just a 2 inch section on the top of the rim where the tire is held on that buldges out about a 1/4" Its really not all that bad. Ill take pics this weekend when i have my camera. I just want to fix it because i know after awhile it really really get on my nerves since it isnt perfect.

Dan,

this is Cal @ gruppe-s... wheelstechniques are pretty expensive and they are slow. If you want to get it fixed within one day. Try Wheel America in Union City. Its the same exit as the UCKK (alvarado nile) but you go towards the East side of the freeway. Turn left on Western Ave. its on your right hand side.

Their flat rate was $109 per. If the tire is mounted, they charge $139 i believe. http://www.bentrim.com/

Good luck

Cal
