Hahahaha...I ran into Kasio at the 4:30 slot and I was in his group for a while. That was fun. I was rockin' my BAIC sweatshirt and the Subaru dudes in the tent where you get your freebies there were like, "AWESOME SWEATSHIRT!"
For me, I thought the little run down on some basic driving techniques were informative to me. Since I've never really had any advice on driving, it helped a lot.

That was probably the coolest free marketing thing I've ever participated in.
You'd have to be crazy to buy that Volvo or BMW after driving that Legacy GT back to back with it. Faster, equivalent or better handling, cheaper, etc etc.
That ruled. Saw Zoeb and Marc there too...that was the only bad part

the subaru was definatly the best car there. all my instructors were pretty cool. i got to do an extra run on the performance course with the subaru and use the sport shift. then on the handling course the guy helped me out some with some ebrake action in the volvo. and then he let me turn off the traction adn stability control on the bmw.

On the traction where they threw a buncha sand on one of the corners. I gave the Legacy a good slide. Man, the Volvo sucked. The steering wheel feels loose, as if I can't even feel the damn road!

Yeah this event was definitely geared more towards teaching some driving skills. All good points - straight line braking, apexing the corner correctly, looking further down the road etc. Not much seat time though compared to the Misubishi event last weekend. Instructors were pretty good except for the first one (a guy) who completely ignored me ( a woman) and only spoke to the guy that was riding with me ... man that pissed me off.
Never made it back for the Legacy Challenge. It was at 5.30pm. Did anyone do that?
BTW, thanks to CrazyButHappy for posting the information so that the rest of us could go play!

That was a lot of fun... I wish we had a little more drive time, and less people in the car. They all felt pretty sluggish loaded up with 4 people.

that was pretty fun. There were two courses there when I was there. One was the handling course with sand and speed bumps. The other was the 'performance' course where you get to test the ABS and some sharp turns.
The handling course sucked **** because the lady in the volvo said I can't go fast so I just 'drove' the course. I was like, how the hell are you going to be able to tell if the car handles well or not if you just 'drive' the car. Not impressed...
The performance course was a lot more fun. Also they let us 'step' on it!
I never did feel the ABS even I brake as late and as hard as possible, nothing... but it was still fun. I have to say, automatic SUCKS!!! As I was coming out of the corner, I had NO power what so ever. By the time it down shifts, I was going into the next turn already. I then drove the Volvo, eeh, it was alright. The third one I drove on the performance course was a stick shift outback. That sucker was SICK TO DA BONE!
After the ABS section just stayed in second the whole time and it was a blast flying out of every corner with no lack. Plus I was more used to the course by then. Then the last lap was with another automatic but I asked the instructor if I could drive in sports shift mode. He said he'll shift it for me. I have to say, not bad, not bad at all. Very simialr to stick! He kind of got freaked out after the first right hand turn. He kept on telling me to 'brake! brake!', becase I was braking late and short.
It was a blast for me because I haven't 'raced' for the LONGEST time.
Well, that would have to last for another year or so until I get another suby or something.
