I'm there. I say avoid HWY 1. Between Tunitas and Stage is fine, but otherwise, down in that section of HWY 1 it's either way too illegal (ie. 130+ MPH) or way too boring. I'm not a fan of high speeds sweeps. Gimee some nice tight low speed turns, which is Tunitas and Stage and Kings Mtn. etc.
Regarding the BBQ time...
Some of those roads get a lil crowded at mid day, so an early morning drive (meet 815 start all drivers out 9AM? with the BBQ at the end) or a late afternoon/early evening drive with the BBQ before hand would probably be best.
Another thought... BBQ's are impossible to hold into a certain time bracket... How the hell can you tell when everyone is going to be done eating and ready to drive? I personally don't think anyone should be drinking at all before driving, but you can't stop adults from bringing their own beer to a meet, so you'd have to leave time to be sure everyone had everything out of their systems before driving...
I'm just thinking and typing, but I guess I would conclude that I think an early morning-ish drive with the BBQ after would be best. I'm sure there are places in Saratoga to do this at...

Damn techies...
First he puts up an RFC about a driving event, now he's making us pass an ID10T test by subscribing to a mailing list.
Are you going to sell my information to the highest bidder Dave?! You bastard!
