Post Review: '04 Toyota Scion XB

Well I guess my GF and I aren't getting the Mini Cooper S to replace her Astro Van after all....but that's OK!

We needed better fuel mileage and more interior space, so we looked into the new Toyota Scion XB econobox wagon.

Handling: Stiff enough for a stock suspension. Traction control worked well. Fine overall.
Power: Feels stronger than the advertised 108hp with its 1.5L VVT-i dohc 4-banger
Brakes: The only truly weak point. Has drums in the back.
Tranny/Clutch: Shifter needs kit, but works OK. Clutch is so soft, though!
Interior: Cheap, but suitable. A/C blew ice cubes. Good view of the road and surroundings. Good use of space, roomy little box. Decent seats.
Exterior: I love the way this rolling box looks. No gray plastic fenders/bumpers ish like the Honda Element. We'll get it in black or metallic green prolly.

David

Yeah, go online and check out the options. You can build it however you want it and they deliver it that way and there is no haggling w/ price. What's quoted is what you pay.

I, personally would get the xA, but these are some sweet econobox's. I'm thinking about getting it for my wife to replace her Neon when it dies (and it will die).

no offense... as a longtime toyota'er... (been driving my 4runner since 1990), i gotta say...

that the toyota marketing dept is on drugs on something. both scions are ugly as hell.

the xb is the worse of the 2. geez, i know that in japan, these shapes are a hit.

or maybe i havent taken enough drugs. but why go boxy? if i wanted boxy, i'd get the HMMWV (er, H1).

[/insanity rant off]

personally, I've never liked 4-runners....but I do like boxy cars, ish I used to drive a '68 BMW 2002, and always wanted a Datsun 510....

It's a helluva good deal, and there is plenty of aftermarket for it too!

Man BOXY IS DA SHIZZIT! I've been so tired of these soapbar shaped cars... I really like the XB, its so much better than the Element... you know the big plastic box from Honda?

Complain all you want, but for $13,000, you can't expect that much. I think you get quite a bit for the price.
