Reunions

Wow.

I am getting freakin old man. My 10 year reunion is coming up this summer.

I'm stressin out. I don't want to be the guy that got fat. Or lost his hair or his good looks. Or did the least with his life. Most of the people I have been contacted by in recent weeks for the reunion are married, with children. Good jobs. Shoot even one had a sex change. Yeah..I said it and you read it right..

I guess I'm stressing out. I don't know whether to bring my girlfriend or not. Might be weird for her and might be hard for me to get to talk to all these people if I have to entertain her as well.

Just wondering how many of you have had your reunions...did you go. What was it like. Should I bring the girlfriend?

Just crazy.

I can not believe 10 years have passed. I figured I'd have a kid by now. Be married. and be about 30 pounds thinner.haaaaaa.

The rule about bringing girls to reunions is:

Don't bring a girl unless:

1. She is SUPERHOT and you are showing her off.
2. You are getting married to her.
3. You are married to her.

She will just be bored of you talking to people about "the old days".

someone: "Remember when..."

her: "no."

Hurry up and get a sex change so you will have something to talk about. Or just bring your bike and do trials from table to table.

hey one

dont sweat it. i went to my 10 year and had a good time. i met my wife in high school, so we went together. that made it a bit easier in terms of taking a date or your signifigant other. if you have any old girlfriends or love interests from high school, dont take your girlfriend. it can get ugly, and sometimes that dog you and you buds made fun of turns into a super hottie, is single, and proclaims to you that she had a crush on you way back when.

besides that as you already stated, your gf will be bored out of her mind, especially when you are talking about old times. me personally, i wouldnt want to submit my signifigant other to that sort of punishment.

like i said, i had a good time at mine. it was very interesting to see how peoples lives turned out. and don't sweat the little stuff. who cares who got fat, or ugly, or rich, etc. i only hang out with 2-3 close friends from high school anymore with any regularity. all my best friends are people i met in college, or where i live now (truckee), and a few people i met at suby events

good luck, and have fun if you go...

josh

thanks for this man. I appreciate it.

I'll talk to my girl about it. I'm not gonna go to my reunion in search of a love connection. That's sad..haa. Besides that, I've been with my girl 3 years. Not worth loosing that over something silly.

But it could get very ugly. There is a chance that my old girlfriend will be there and that's a long and not pretty story that my girls aware of.

And beyond that..I've brought her to a couple UCKK meets. She doesn't do well in even type of deals. I'm a social guy. I'll talk to damn near anyone about anything. She's not like that. I mean I can walk up to someone I don't know and be like..Nice tats bro. Who's your artist. Or hey nice ride man..etc..you know. That's just me. Always has been.

On the lady front in school. I've heard recently that I was thought of pretty fondly by the ladies in school. I was a good lookin kid and wasn't like a clique guy. I played football and snowboarded. Played baseball and went to punk shows..you know. But for a while there I played around. Dated damn near half the cheerleaders at once.

Bah... So stressed though. My poor ego.

I shall purchase a full size chevy truck with a 14 inch lift to make myself appear more manly....yeah that's it.

LOL Thats funny bro. I was just talking to Dawn about this subject. I was figuring that its her year for a reunion to but I forgot she graduated in '96. (She started first grade a year later than she should have) But yea I wouldn't stress too much about the reunion as far as what you've accomplished and stuff like that. On the bringing your girl front, you know you'd have to ask her if she wants to go, then explain that she probably wouldn't have any fun.

On a side note, I'll be home tonight if you're driving past this area tonight.

well, i have a 8" lifted gmc hd crew cab w/35's if you need it. cleans up real nice, and even has a dvd player in it

on the gf, sounds like NOT taking her is a good idea. i was the same way in school (minus the good looks part), but my gf then is my wife now. very different situation. there was no one for me to see and make her upset. she pwned me the last 3 years if school....

ryball said it best..."She will just be bored of you talking to people about "the old days".". and that is just what you do, and that is most of the fun.

i cant help you not stress, but trust me, when it is all over you will laugh at yourself for stressing. i guarantee you there will be others that take the "gossip" cake at this reunion. besides, it is only a 10 year. 20 years is when it really gets depressing. 4 more years for mine. i could give a rats *** about it though. my wife is hotter than ever, i got a cool job that i love, and a kid that makes my world go 'round.....

that's awesome josh, the way you feel about your family.

I guess the cool thing for me is that at my 20 year reunion..if I marry my current girl..>I'll probably have the youngest wife..haaaa.

I think it's cool when highschool loves turn into life long loves.

Couple of my buddies from high school married girls from school. Pretty cool.

yeah...he/she is the one setting the whole thing up.

I ran into an old football buddy of mine in a pub in watsonville. He started telling me about this guy jack that called our buddy Kellie about the reunion. Kept saying Kellie couldn't remember a Jack that we went to school with. At the end of the conversation Jack goes. Well in highschool you would have known me as Jackie. Trippy.

I mean I went to a christian high school with 102 graduates in my class...what are the chances.

so yeah..I suppose I could be bald and weigh 350 pounds and I wouldn't be the talk of the gathering. Pretty wild. She/he seems happier with himself so I guess good for him.

I crashed mine. Haha! I didn't recognize some of the people there because they changed a lot. But people commented that I look the same now as I did when we graduated. I'll take that as a complement.

I just remember that one of the band geek girls that I grew up with looks super hawt now. She was probably the talk of the reunion.

The reunion was cool... A little ackward. But it was nice to see old friends.
