Rest in peace Dave Mirra
Some of ya know I ride, well I've known Dave since we were kids. He'd come over and ride Red Devil with his people and we'd go ride Calabasas or a spot in Los Gatos.
We last spoke right after Thanksgiving, and well, it was a typical chat. Life, Kids, Wife, Family, Work, etc. I wish I'd been more observant in his going dormant recently on FB and other online stuff but honestly who hasn't taken a break from the forums and boards, right?
I got a few calls after 1:30pm our time, I had to ignore them. When I got home I got the message as to what happened.
I'm not sure what else to say about this, I'm still in shock. So I'm opening this thread up as a means to remember his life, his riding, his time behind the wheel of a Subaru instead.
Let me give notice though, IF ANY OF YOU WHO ARE MY FRIENDS ARE EVER AT THAT POINT, CALL/TEXT/VISIT ME. I'll listen, we'll talk, we'll try to solve the issue. Please, taking your life isn't necessary. We've all been through rough times, things can work themselves out.
Rest In Peace Old Buddy. I wish I'd noticed. I wish I'd stayed more in touch. Hell, I wish I'd visited you out in Greenville.

RIP,
Damn thats so cool you knew him, I use to be really into bmx style jumps when I Was younger, long before I got old and fat. Dave Mirra during this time in my life became a name I'd never forget, and a legend to me. Who knew he'd get into Subarus and rallying, and so would I?

If in doubt, FLAT OUT

RIP Dave. Really sad to hear that. He was a pretty amazing guy. I used to ride BMX all the time too. Sorry that you had to find out like that too man. Don't feel that you couldn't help him, it is hard to ask for help when you're in a place like that. You can hit me up as well. I have been too busy to hit the meets much lately, but I'm around.

Thanks guys, I'm still more in shock than anything else. I can't say this enough, Always ask for help. People WILL listen.
As to those of us in this clique not seeing each other at the Meets, etc, now some of you can see why I always feel it's important for old friends to stay in touch. Even when we somehow **** each other off for in-person or online crap, at the end of the day we're all still friends and knowing we can always reach out for a hand or a good ear is awesome. (Man this all sounds gushy but whatever.)
*Mods, can someone fix the picture above so it's not oversize-embedded and just clickable if someone wants to see it fullsize? I can't figure it out. Thx
