Is this repairable? pics

Wasup BAIC,

As I was driving home and got out of my car. I noticed a glare on my front passenger side tire. As I came closer to look at it, it was a freaken bolt. I wanted to know if this is repairable or maybe just patch it up or something. I really don't want have to spend $$ on a new tire since I'm kinda low on funds. Recommend me some good tire shops that will take care of this. TIA. Here's the pics.

You're hosed. Unless you find a shady shop to fix it. Too close to the sidewall.

agree with Unit 91, rather spend for another tire/shave it to match if needed than to see you hurt in the future, or more damage to your car cause of a failed tire.

Yea too close, but if you ABSOLUTELY can't get a new tire just go to Kragens, Autozone, etc and get a tire plugging kit and DIY.

Sorry dude. Doesn't look repairable.

Is your tire losing any air? I had a small nail in a similar spot, but it never punctured all the way through, so it never lost any air because of it.

Not losing any air at the moment. Looks to me it's clogged up pretty good on the tire.

Thanks ya'll, I guess I'll have to fork out and get a new tire then. Better safe than sorry.

Oh that's easy, just tighten a nut on the backside of that bolt.

Same thing happened to me about a year ago. I would say buy a used, but good cheap tire you can afford even if it doesn`t match. When you`re ready to buy a new one go for it. It just seems a little dangerous to me if you had someone repair that.
Yeah, I too was sporting an un-matching tire for a while and felt quite self conscious about it, but it sure beats risking yourself driving thinking that it could blow out at any moment.

Is that sumimoto? I had that exact problem just two month after new tires. Not repairable. Get tire road hazard insurance next time.

While this might get you by for a little while I don't suggest going that route. Believe it or not varying levels of grip at different corners can have detrimental effects to your drivetrain. Note I said can, not "OMGYOURTRANSMISSIONSBLOWSUP!"

I've heard the same, much safer to just fork up for a new one.

Same thing happened in my friends M3 for a while, he did a patch up at first, but quickly decided to go for some new tires.

Might want to consider changing both tires.(Depending on the tread lift of the other tires) AWD cars don't like it when you replace just one tire.
