I think anyone that actually worries and puts thought into being a parent can't possibly be a "crappy dad". But I know what you mean... its been on my mind as well.

I didn't have a good example of a father until my teen years and my biggest fears in life are being a failure as a father and a husband... but I tell you what I've learned so far.

You want to be a good dad, be there. Be there and participate.

Work was slow yesterday, so the wife and I left early to take our 8 month old to the Oakland zoo. He enjoyed himself and stayed awake for the time we were there. He was intenting staring at the elephant as it was right in front of us, really close.

That was really nice, Ray. It only gets better.

I was unemployed for around a year when our first daughter was younger and it was the greatest blessing I could have ever wished for. Though it ****ed us up financially, I wouldn't trade that time for anything. I only wish I could have taken a year off for our second.
