Yep, limited edition production car. It's even in the 1st 2 editions of the Impreza volumes of Hyper Rev. Only 5000 models produced in '98 after it was demo'd at the '97 Tokyo Motor Show.

There's a cult following for them in Japan, to the point that their's a Casablanca Owners' Club!

yes it was, Japan had their own retro craze in the 90s a little before we did, theres a couple other subies over there like that
