Recommendations of where to buy a WRX?
Hi, I am looking to buy a new WRX in the next week. I just wanted to ask if anyone has had any great experiences from certain dealerships in the Bay Area or Sacramento area. I have been to Ron Price in South San Francisco and will probably be buying from them if there aren't any other recommendations. Thanks for your help! I can't wait to be in a new subie!

Ron Price has a pretty bad reputation around here...
Most will say go to Calsen and Santa Cruz instead

Ron Price gets a thumbs down from me. Their serivce techs really had no idea what was going on, neither did the salesman. On top of that, he treated my girlfriend like a piece of meat.
I ended up buying from Oakland Subaru - they did OK on price etc. Not great, but it was a fair price. I'd avoid their service dept though, they tried to tell me that my aftermarket stereo was causing my battery to drain faster.

I bought my first brand new car at Santa Cruz. They could not have been more helpful. Sadly my salesman..Charlie is no longer there but the staff they have left is still quality. They do not work on commission so you are not gonna get worked over.
mcowger...depending on your stereo and how it's set up it would cause your battery to drain faster. Mine does. Our alternators aren't the best in the world.

Didn't happen for a week, so I installed my stereo (a single Alpine 9835 HU - no external amp, no speakers, no sub, just the HU) and its power line. 3 days later, its did the stupid battery dead thing again. Called SOA & the dealer again. Brought it in, at which point they decided that the battery deaths were due to my 'aftermarket equipment' rather than a cruddy alt or battery.
I replaced the battery, and it hasn't done it since then. This was very clearly the dealer deciding they didn't want to deal with it and using a crux of aftermarket gear to not deal with it.

I'm about to buy my 01 2.5RS from Carmax up in Roseville ( I'm in the vacaville/fairfield area) They usually have some WRX's from time to time and pretty fair prices, no BS, simple straight forward, everything is cut dry and you don't need any boots to wade through the BS at traditional dealers
The prices are generally below what dealer retail is, usually at about private party prices. My 01 RBP 2.5RS 4dr 5spd w\66k miles is $11,996, and retails for about 13-14k, so im getting a pretty fair price IMO
and no i don't work for them lol
