Reason # 45677223 UPS sucks!
This really wouldn't have been a big deal if it wasn't for the fact i requested 2nd day air from UPS.
I ordered a set of Hella Supertones from Susquehanna Motorsports and was very pleased with the customer service they provided... however, they didn't screw up! UPS did because i personally requested "2nd Day Air" outside of Susquehanna's control for an added fee.
So i get the tracking # and they sent it ground... Ok fine! I can deal with that! But here's what i can't deal with... why it takes them 55hrs to get the package from Richmond, CA to Sacramento!? It's 85 F*cking MILES!! So i call UPS and ask to talk to someone "in charge" they put me on hold for 75minutes.
Finally i talk to a guy named steve and he's fairly rude at first. So i talk to Steve and ask him why it takes 55 hours for my package to travel 85miles. He tells me it's due to personel at the Richmond branch. I say fine...then i demanded he take the FNG, give him a pair of walking shoes and get my package to me the old fashioned way. That's when i got my refund on the shipment.
So
UPS... I'll never buy/deal with a company that uses UPS nor ever use them!
Just thought i'd throw this little story out for something to read.

ups is so slow. i dont know why vendors use them. I try not to select UPS for shipping if i have to. USPS and fedex are MUCH MUCH MUCH better.

If I have a choice between two vendors, and one only offers UPS shipping, then his competitor will get my business every time. I don't care how easy UPS makes it for shippers (which is I think why they are so popular), they make life absolutely HELL for the receiver.

Did the shipper insure the engine?
Did UPS try to say it wasn't packed correctly?
What gives?

The next day a FedEx guy showed up at MY door asking ME for the package. I explained the situation to him, he called his dispatcher, then asked me to call the 1-800 number again because they did something wrong (apparenlty scheduled a pickup at my address instead of a trace). So I did, they again said it was fixed and that within 2 hours they would contact the original delivery person to find out where it was delivered, go get it, and deliver it to me by 3pm. Only when I call at 3:30 I found out that what they really did was just schedule a pickup at the non-existent address, and the pickup person cancelled the pickup because the address didn't exist. They then said I'd probably have to wait about 2 more days until someone asks the original driver where the package was left. To say the least I wasn't at all confident that would really happen.
Later that day I did get the package, because whoever it was really delivered to returned it as a wrong delivery, and it ended up in the hands of the same FedEx guy who was sent to my place for the bogus pickup earlier in the day.
And it was addressed to me, so the delivery person delivered it to the wrong address, claimed in the tracking record to have delivered it to yet a third address, and falsely claimed someone had signed for it who hadn't.
The UPS overnight package sent to me last week got to me just fine. (But I've posted my UPS horror story elsewhere.)
