Ive always loved Porsches, but I know there are people out there that will say "That's not a real Porsche", does that **** **** you off or do you just ignore them?

What is the stock motor HP output? Is it possible to put a motor from a 996 Turbo, or just 996 N/A into it? Now THAT would be sick.

My only gripe about the car is that it has poor safety ratings, but thats nothing a cage can't fix!!! The car looks very clean man, VERY clean. Probably one of the best 914's I've ever seen, so GOOD work on taking such good care of her.

All you need is a motor swap and no one, and I mean NO ONE will be able to touch you! That light of a car with that much HP... HAHHAHAH! Talk about a FUN car. Don't forget the cage if you plan on upgrading the motor though.

Here's a great link that documents the evolution of the 914 from start to end.

http://auto.howstuffworks.com/porsch...ures-specs.htm

Looks like that little bugger never exceeded 100hp... Usually had 70-95hp tops, which means that a 5l flat four from Porsche mated to that would be like a go-kart from HELL, and you'd still get gooo gas milage considering how light the car is. Man, if I was a millionaire and had money lying around, I'd totally do it and smoke Veyrons and McLaren F1's!!! (Think about that tiny porsche with a modern porsche turbo engine inside of it! HOLY CRAP!). The best part would be the reliability of the motor... While you're at it, might as well add all the other Porsche things like brakes, tranny, and the rest of the drivetrain, You would have one of the fastest cars in the entire bay area and NO ONE would be able to touch you... Well, as long as you could hook up with traction.

I know every single one of you would drool at a project like that, especially Krinkov.

I always tell people that say its a VW " It's actually a Porsche/VW/Karman-Ghia.... so you know nothing" and that usually shuts them up quick.

The block started off as a stock 2.0L with about 92-95HP. That got stripped down, kept the same crank, but put 96MM pistons and jugs on it and had the heads brought to euro spec and bigger valves. Now it'll make around 120.

But it is possible to put the bigger H6's in the car without any modification to the chassis of the car. You have to remember that even the h4's were built with all the sutff yu need to put a H6 in them front the factory, all you need id the H6 motor mount and oil tank. You can even do an sti sewap or a vette motor. it's all about chassis stiffening and braking at that point.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I'm gonna bring it out on wednsday to zen, but I got to go to work.
