Is there a reason the DF03RA's are $215-$230 on Horizon and Tower, But RC Mart sells them for $159-$169? Is RC Mart legit? I thought they were. It says doesn't include ESC so maybe thats part of the price drop?

Yet, they are trying to get $450 for a 1/16 Slash when the average price on that is $279 !!!

Any advice on where to buy? Tower Hobbies always emails me "Save $30 with purchase" etc so i am leaning towards them.

Thanks!

I saw this thread and ran out to my garage excitedly only to remember that I gave ALL of my R/Cs away. Tamiya slot cars too. Oh wells, I hope some youngsters are having a ball with 'em.

so when I was losing interest/beginning to chase tail/drive a real friggin car, I remember brushless motors were getting to be good. Anyone care to explain to me what the scene is like today? Brush, brushless? Nitro?? I see HPI has some Gas ones now wtf?

Right now nothing beats a good brushless motor and good LiPo battery setup. You can get massive power out of it depending on what you go with. Also because of the ease of maintenance and new found power with an electric cars a lot of nitro guys have switched over. My vote for 1/8th, 1/12th and 1/10th will always be electric.

Kyle I always buy from Tower as well.

I have 2 buggies. A Kyosho RB5 and a ZX-5SP. There is an offroad track in Union City. (Norcal Hobbies)

Haven't raced those things in a year now. Time and money are key factors. *sigh*

heck yeah they do...

my baja 5T was around $1300. when i bought it, tower had like $300 off a $1000 purchase.

then HPI, also had a $100 rebate...

that's close to 1/4 off...

ohhh nice! thats a deal!

I would love to support a hobby store, but they always have someone in there with a bad attitude, if not most of the people that work there...at many hobby stores that I have visited from Santa Cruz to Sac!

Oh this is so awesome!!!!! I have some pretty nice dirt trails and hills and this HUGE flat area (complete with rusted out truck) right behind my house. I want one of those 1/10 SLASH cars. Seems like RWD would be more fun. I would prefer a nitro car but want to be able to play with it all over the place without people getting pissy and my eyes burning haha..

My last car was an RC/10 with foam tires - but I really wanted a "Turbo Optima Mid" if I remember that right. Before that I had a Grasshopper. I think I am now dated. Someone stole my whole RC/10 setup when I was in school, right from my dorm room as well.

damn people stealing rc cars. Right when you have money to throw away at a "stupid toy" someone has to steal it and youre left with nothing. Its been a few years since my RC18R Evo was stolen, and im still watching videos vicariously! I got my 1/18 crawler though, but kinda boring lately.

Son of a switchback! Do you have a hill that would accommodate this type of track? Sick track but they need a treehouse or ewok bridges so they don't have to run around so much haha.

This one is alright too.
