Question Rashguard recommendations for Grappling?

Anybody have any recommendations for a rashguard for BJJ/Judo newaza (groundfighting)? I'm kinda getting sick gi/mat burn and am thinking of investing in this: http://www.judogis.com/site/790161/product/Miz_SS_LS Either that or the typical Underarmor one.

Does anyone have a better model that can be recommended? Maybe one from Gameness, Ouano, Hayabusa, Gracie Sport, or some other brand? Obrigado!

I use a friction stopping surfing top...works really well and you get them from most surf shops.

yep, exact same thing. nike makes the same type of top, drifit, and basically all underarmor is the same. All you need to do is decide how much bling you want, and how much money you're willing to spend on it.

otherwise, koral is nice, as are any other bjj "brands" that simply label other manufacturers stuff...

i stopped buying "name brand" rashguards a long time ago...

www.swainmats.com has some mats, but they are kinda expensive.

A few questions:

1.) Do surfing rashguards wick away sweat properly? Because I have one and it seems to just get very stuffy in it as opposed to the temperature being "regulated" (cooler in hot weather, warmer in cold weather). Just a thought...

2.) I compared the Nike Drifit with the Underarmor model and the Underarmor seems to be thicker. I want to make sure I buy a rashguard that's durable enough for lots of groundfighting as well as for throwing and takedowns. Are the BJJ brands more durable/tougher than the standard sports compression shirt models?

Thanks all!

Not really. I have personally seen professional fighters wearing Nike drifits and UA stuff. As long as some lamer doesn't intentionally try to grab your shirt like a biscuit, you should be alrite. I've seen expensive rashguards torn by people grabbing onto them, as well.

As far as wicking sweat away, the material is designed to do that. If you seem to get stuffy in one brand, try another.
