hmm..considering that i owned both cars...

stock for stock, id choose the s2000. its faster(although it doesnt feel like it) and handles better than the WRX(im not talking about STi's here). the build quality of the s2000 is a lot higher, and the resale value of the s2000 is very good. full coverage insurance is also cheaper by a couple hundred on my s2000 than it was on my wrx, which i found very suprising.

generally speaking, a stage 2 wrx will be just as fast, if not faster than a s2000 with full exhaust, intake and some sort of flash. if both vehicles had a turbo upgrade, the s2000 would be faster.

the WRX is obviously a more reliable vehicle, but some chicks will <3 your convertible.

if i had the choice, i swear i would not be able to choose one vehicle or the other. both vehicles have their plus and minuses. the s2000 is definately a drivers car, but it is not the most practical vehicle to use daily. the wrx can be used almost anywhere and in any weather conditions, but the vehicle sometimes doesnt handle as well as the other.

to answer your question, the S2000 is a BLAST to drive. with good tires and a proper suspension setup, the vehicles handling is amazing.

oh..and the s2000 isnt THAT slow...it just has no torque =[

Doesn't the s2k outhandle an STi? In autox, those things are quicker in tight corner courses. I have no doubt in my mind that it can take an sti on twisty roads or on the track. i have a lot of respect for those cars. they look nice too. I think if you don't care about space, go for it. you only live once, sell the wrx and get an s2k. if you don't like it, go back, or try new cars. u shouldnt be stuck with one car your whole life, especially being a car enthusiast. if u can afford it, go through like a few cars until u find the one u like. i remember watching on top gear that in england, it was one of the top cars the viewers chose or something. and jeremy clarkson loves it.

My friend is planning on getting one soon. He went to test drive it and noted that there was a lack of torque.

But IMO, lightweight RWD vehicles should be super-fun to drive.

Not very fun in a straight line. But pretty entertaining on a mountain road. My friend has an S2K with ITB's and a built high comp motor. The engine is very responsive but still doesn't have any real power.

eh i drive my buddys car alot (we trade cars) and aside from its a s2000 for every day driving id hate it

its small nothing fits in it and the engine noise is anoying to hear day in and day out

for me reving the engine high sounds like your killing the car since its so loud and the gearing is long

but on the up side, its awesome to take to the limit, or get it side ways around corners or empty parking lots... hehe

but personally for me to own a s2000 over my wrx it would def. have to be a weekend car only.

i've driven my friend s2k and I admit it's a lot of fun taking it on twisties and what not....but man that car is sooo not pratical for everyday use. It's only a two seater plus trunk space sucks. However if I was single ehhh I really wouldn't mind having one. Senior citzens love checkout out s2k. Believe me if you had one fixed up or not a senior citizen would be jocking it. I dunno maybe cause it's a convertible.

The S2k handles much better than a STi, expecially on a auto X course. Better turn-ins, response, wheel feel than the STi. But on a road course, stock vs stock, the STi would be faster and easier to drive fast than the SK2 due to more torque.

The torque makes it easier to accelerate (making gear selection less critical) but AWD is easier to drive as well. S2k's are definitely more tail happy. The S2k is definitely a more demanding car to drive.

My previous housemate owns one. We swapped cars a bunch of times (whenever he needed 4 seats) - obviously, I wasn't complaining.

I loved the handling, and the engine was fun as long as you were wringing its neck. The downside was that the car felt gutless at anything below 6k.

One thing to look for (as with any performance vehicle) is good service history.

My girlfriend has a 02' S2000 and we switch car once a while. To me, both cars are very fun to drive. However, you just need to be more careful in the S.

Make sure put some good tires on the S2000 though or you are asking for trouble

do girls really <3 the s2k? i guess im not one of them. my dog is a girl and she loves riding in it! id rather ride in my sti over my fiances s2k any day

to me its too small and too over priced. i guess coming from rx7s it just doesnt meet my expectations. i hate driving it and i hate riding it...its not a passenger friendly vehicle.

id rather have the new mazda mx5 grand touring my friend picks his up in a couple of weeks. drool.
