Actually 22/7 is a rough equivalent, not nearly as accurate.

Whereas PI is 3.1415926.....

=3.141592653921421044...

Whereas Pi-
=3.1415926535897932384...

So you can see where the deviation takes place. Which begs two questions:

1. Is 104348/33215 good enough?

2. Does 104348/33215 make anything easier?

I would suggest "YES" to number one and "NO" to number two.

For most of the stuff we'd do around the house, or even the car, probably yes, but I wouldn't want to use it for an airplane part, space shot or weapons system...

I have a Stromung two-tip exhaust, and the other day at Japantown in SF some jerk put a bunch of trash in one of the tips. After an hour and a half I came back to the car to find two pieces of metal, some cigarette butts and some paper in one pipe. I turned on the car and blew everything out except one piece of metal which I took out manually. It makes no sense that someone took the time to pick up a bunch of dirty trash off the street and put it in the still-hot pipe. Glad they didn't key it, stupid punks.
