I was just using you as an example to counter the "particular race" comment.

BS. Plain and simple. They're too afraid to profile, even thought it may benefit them, because of the PC crap involved with it.

They'd rather detain a 80yr old wheelchair bound grandma than stop someone who, historically, fits the bill of past terrorists.

I worked for TSA for 7 years and there is no system in which we select a certain individual it is 100% random. You may say that the way TSA screens people is ridiculous and not working but I can assure you it is alot better than the previous screeners. TSA would be far more effective if they stopped worrying about PC stuff and just did their jobs. TSA personnel are really doing the job with 1 hand tied behind their backs.

100% random may not be the correct phrasing because the past 10 out of 10 flights I have been stopped and checked. Many times requiring me to take off some of my clothing and them checking me, which I honestly have no problem with. It's just definitely not random.

My uncle works at an airport and catches drugs coming over from different countries. He told me it's only random 20% of the time and they have a big list of names which the computers recognize as suspects.

I just returned from Wisconsin yesterday from visiting in-laws. There were no additional checks that I witnessed. Milwaukee isn't a large airport like LAX but there was no additional checks and I wasn't told that I couldn't use any electronics. Had the portable DVD player and my ipod with no issues.

There's no way for people to say how many times TSA screenings have worked because there's no way to quantify attacks not happening.

I've gone through checkpoints with a shaving razor and multiple containers of liquids, such as facewash, toothpaste, etc because I forgot they were in there and I never check in my bags. A TSA guy was asking everyone if they had liquids in their bags, I remembered then so I told him, he opened my bag, looked at it, closed it and let me be on my way. These aren't travel size containers, nor are they even close.

I've never had one of these random checks happen to me, but I don't fly all that often. At most once or twice a year. I've only been wanded once because I set the metal detector off, which was my fault since I left my keys in my pocket and belt on.

What airports are these that don't catch anything during the xray? I'm just curious because I've always seen elderly folks and families have their hand carry go through several times because they're forgetting their water bottles and electronics. I even see business travelers stopped and questioned because they're hand carrying high value cameras/electronic equipment in their bags. I guess the TSA at San Jose are on the ball, at least from my experience.

I get checked all the time and i am white. Few times they took me into a small room and had 3 girls in there and search me completely by having me even remove my clothes. I finally got used to it when it happened 10 times. After a few of the times i finally asked why because they said its just random the first few times. They said many reasons but the reason they checked me out is because i bought my tickets online and they were one way flights.

Remove clothes? If were talking down to undershirt or less I'd laugh them out of this galaxy.
