Ramps?

Anyone know where I can get a piece of metal to put on my driveway. Living in downtown San Jose sucks the driveways are really steep.

For the past 3-4 months I've been ramping my car with wood. That means each time I leave my house or come home I have to get out grab the ramps place them then drive my car up. This really sucks when its pouring outside. Also my street is very narrow and packed with cars so imagine trying to line up your car with ramps.

I don't want to deal with permits and repaving it yet. It can either be a big solid piece or 2 pretty big pieces where I can just drive in without worrying my car would fall off. Because my mom would have to get up the ramp as well.

I'll post a video when the weather gets better.

Oh yah for people who have came to my house and watched me do this to my car and yours you can chime in.

Is there any street cleaning where you live and would that affect anything? I face a similar situation but can't put anything out there unless I want to also remove it once a week. I've learned to drive up my driveway at a diagonal to minimize the scraping.

why are the ramps needed? is it the transition from the street to the sidewalk/driveway?

Some driveways have insane dips for the water to flow to the drains. The one on Al's street is ricockulous to the umpteenth power.

Al, the main question is if you have street sweepers come down your street. If not I can offer you a pretty good solution. Let me know. TIA
