question on sti radiator cap

a lot of F&*kers on this board.
he is asking a questoin...a serious one. not all of us are mechanics. and apparantly this guy knows not much at all.
just replace the stock radiator cap with the STI one.
stock caps are rated around 15psi. each psi is abotu 3 degrees. so if its like 20psi cap, the coolant will be able to boil 15 degrees later.
the coolant mixture itself adds some more boil resistance.

Thats how much i've seen it for, i think on japanparts its 45, and elsewhere you can probably get it for 40 or cheaper.
Those caps aren't just bottlecaps, they have to withstand a bit of pressure. Plus its just blingin with the pink and the chrome, thats 20 bucks worth of style points right there.

STI Cap
I couldn't afford the STI cap so I just took out my trusty RED Marks-A-Lot permanent marker and wrote STI on my stock radiator cap. This way, I don't get scalded or lose any coolant. I felt a bit of horsepower gain, almost the same gain when I used my trusty RED Marks-A-Lot marker and wrote STI on my stock intercooler, must have been the chemicals in the ink.
If I could only figure out a way to write STI on my tailgate without it coming off everytime I wash the car, I could maintain my 3HP gain.
I'm glad you were able to replace your cap, you had me worried.
