Question for STi owners:

When you're sitting still not moving... instead of letting the clutch out and giving it gas... can you let out the clutch slowly without giving it gas and still have the car move forward without any issues?

I had a rental car in Germany... it had a lot of torque (not as much as the STi)... and you could do that... it tripped me out.

I can do it in 1st, as long as i do it gently. You can also start out in 2nd without dragging the clutch either.

damn I'd never do that in my car, but then I'm a puss with my car.

I'd rather do that in a N.A. car anyday, just because I used to do that in my old BMW 2002.

<<Hijack starts here>>

What really tripped me out the last time I was in Europe was the power and handling of this Citroen sedan I drove once...it had a powerful TDI motor, and yet I thought it was gasoline-powered, plus it had 4 wheel steering, and got soooo deep into turns it was beautiful...

Torque is fun. My neighbor used to give me rides in his Viper from time to time and he would start froma stop in third all the time, and he did so as easily as he start our cars from 1st... if not easier.

Dear Automatic Driver,

What you've described is possible in any manual car. Please leave your car in "D" and leave the shifting to us.

Sincerely,

The Manual Drivers of I-club

Your wife is a manual and I rode her!

LOL! (Sorry, recycled Zoeb joke).

I beg to differ however... you can't do it in all manuals... My sisters old Civic couldn't... nor could my old accord. So HA!
