Question Question about Canon softwear...

Hey since I'm in switzerland I'm not using my computer, I'm using my girlfriend's. I forgot the disc at home for my camera. I was wondering what programs I need to download from their site so I can import pictures. I have a canon eos dslr rebel xt.
Thanks!

import into what?

if you are shooting with jpeg, nothing really much.

you just need the capability on the machine to read the media.

if you are shooting raw, yu can try various freebie readers out there or even shareware stuff...

if you really need the software, I can zip it up when I get home and send it to you. You'll want ZoomBrowser and EOS Utility.

Either way RAW or not I still have to install a driver before I can pull up my 20D in "My Computer" on a new XP machine.

You can download this off Canon's website. Had the same thing happen in Sweden this past July.

True, but the XT is current enough to not need drivers, of course it's always good to have them, drivers are available through canons website, however I don't think the photo reading/editing software is...

stupid Canon, i was able to read my Nikon D70 straight from a cable...i had to buy a CF card reader for my Canon 20D (for sale $440)

i'd rather buy a $20 card reader than mess with any software
