Purity Of Handling (BRZ-STi)

Subaru BRZ STi teasers added to Japanese website, it's coming.

Coming Soon. With those two words, Subaru has officially dropped a confirmation bomb on our expectations for a higher performance version of the much-loved BRZ coupe, known, of course, as the Subaru BRZ STI. Two teaser images are being shown on the Japanese web-side home of STI along with the promise of 'coming soon,' and there's also a rather lovely looking set of twisty roads with the words 'Purity of Handling.'

There's not much we can glean from the two teaser images, but we're expecting an aggressive body package to go along with a significant increase in horsepower from the BRZ STI. We're also not totally clear on what 'coming soon' really means – the auto show season will be kicking off in full swing this fall, and we wouldn't be surprised to see a debut in Los Angeles. That said, you'll know more just as soon as we do.

^Possibly. Definitely expecting to see it both @ SEMA and LAAS, then MTIAS back in Vegas later that month.

not really impressed. Most of the "upgrades" they do will just be replaced with after market stuff.

would be very surprised if they let the LA show have this debut instead of their home show in Tokyo in November.

and also, expect to see this STI emblem getting slapped onto every riced out BRZ/FRS on the road from now on.

Mainly interested in the motor choice and just how many STI specific parts it will have vs base. LOL. I am guessing we will see a lot of BRZs up for sale soon already too.

I doubt the BRZ STI will have a turbo.

There will probably be some changes and tweaks to the engine to make it little more powerful.

We can hope for a FI version of the current motor. I think it is pretty much wishing, but the motor from the FXT, possibly a detuned version, would be a good candidate. I kind of doubt that since that seemed destined for the new WRX. I would expect that if they are raising the price a decent amount, we'd better be seeing more than a mild increase in power. There's a fair amount of room in that engine bay too...
